The Muttontown Club is seeking an experienced, innovative, and passionate Executive Chef to lead all culinary operations for our prestigious private country club. This is an exciting opportunity for a culinary professional who thrives in a high-volume, luxury environment and is equally skilled in delivering exceptional member dining experiences and executing elegant catered events.
Our Executive Chef will be responsible for creating memorable culinary experiences for our membership while leading a talented team that produces weddings, social events, corporate functions, golf outings, and club-wide celebrations throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all culinary operations, including member dining, banquet events, weddings, golf outings, and special club functions.
- Develop seasonal menus that reflect current culinary trends while maintaining the traditions and expectations of a private club environment.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing culinary team, fostering a culture of professionalism, creativity, and excellence.
- Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards across all food outlets and events.
- Manage food and labor costs while maintaining exceptional guest satisfaction.
- Source and maintain relationships with high-quality vendors and suppliers.
- Maintain all health, safety, sanitation, and food handling standards.
- Collaborate closely with the Catering and Events team to execute seamless high-end events.
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, inventory management, and strategic planning.
- Create innovative dining experiences, themed events, wine dinners, holiday celebrations, and member engagement programs.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of Executive Chef experience in a private club, luxury hotel, resort, fine dining restaurant, or upscale event venue.
- Proven experience managing both à la carte dining and high-volume banquet operations.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage food and labor costs effectively.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Culinary degree preferred but not required with equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of current culinary trends, menu development, and luxury hospitality standards.
- ServSafe Certification or equivalent preferred.
